About
The Nature Conservancy
The Nature Conservancy offers a collection of programs and project that works with not only educating the population but also preserving our beautiful home.
Their first project Ridge to Reef is an educational program that focuses on what happens on land and how it affects oceans. It’s aimed at not only students and teachers but also school policies. They are creating an online platform that will be available to all teachers with animations, lesson plans and even virtual field trips. They also organise field trips for students that include data collection. Lastly, Ridge to Reef organises internships.
Another of their projects is called Save Our Shells which reuses old shellfish shells from restaurants to create new coral reefs. They will also be used as fertilizers for farmers. This will reduce landfill. Participating’s restaurants include the Peninsula, City Super.
Further, they offer a program called Nature Works which focuses on education, they collaborate with ESF schools with real-world environment initiatives, and through the use of their online platform Nature Works, volunteer activities and leadership positions for students in school to make a change.
They have three volunteering programs: Shell recycling, Reef restoration and Cordgrass removal.
Lastly, on their website they presents ways to reduce your water consumption daily.
